Last month we promised details of more new portal sites. So what is our main news this month? – simple, WELCOME to the new look phuket.com website. Almost 6 years to the day since we first put up our little site, phuket.com has become Phuket’s premier information website and we have grown with that. Now we have added more content, more information and more news about Phuket to give you all the information you could want on where to stay, where to go, what to do and what to see. Check out our new dining section and read what others think of the restaurants and bars here. Browse the tours, maps and photo sections, and don’t forget to check out our activities and events pages.

Other news this month – the Peak Season has passed and there are a few less tourists on the island right now. New Portal Sites This Month

We will be posting up two new destination sites during the month of February. Patong-beach.com and a revamped and developed Khaolak-hotels.com will provide detailed information on hotels, attractions and other area specific information, plus lots of fantastic photos. As for Phuket.com, we have recently added a great new section on shopping and will post another on dining in Phuket later this month. High season is kicking in with a vengeance and Phuket is already thronging with visitors seeking a hot sunny Christmas. (We locals turn up our airconditioning and pretend its winter!). End of Rainy Season

Following the success of Phuket's Quiksilver Surfing competition last month - everybody's now into surfing just as the days and waves of the Monsoon weather are drawing to a close. Now we look forward to the coming high season and are currently enjoying Phuket's colourful Vegetarian Festival. This has everybody cleansing their souls by abstaining from all meat products and wearing white, or gazing in fascination at the sight of people with all manner of objects piercing their mouths, ostensibly under the protection of the Chinese Gods - all part of the fun of living in Phuket!
